Reviews / Midjourney

Midjourney review 2026.

Midjourney is still the benchmark for artistic image quality in 2026. The $10/month Basic plan gives roughly 200 images with Fast GPU. The cost-per-image is $0.05–0.40 depending on settings — significantly higher than API-based alternatives.

Cost verdict

Midjourney is the right choice if image quality and artistic style are your primary criteria and you are generating under 300 images per month. If volume matters more than style, Nano Banana 2 at $0.045–0.151 per image or Leonardo AI at $10/mo for 200–850 images will beat it on cost. Midjourney has no API — everything goes through Discord or their web interface.

  • You are a creative professional where output quality justifies cost

Look elsewhere if

  • You need API access for automated pipelines
  • You generate 500+ images per month
  • You need ecommerce product images (Leonardo is better value)
