Reviews / Claude Pro

Claude Pro review 2026.

Claude Pro is $20/month and gives you access to Claude Sonnet 4.6 at higher limits than the free tier. Sonnet 4.6 is at $3.00 input / $15.00 output per million tokens on the API. For writing-heavy users who rely on Claude's longer, more nuanced outputs, the economics are different from ChatGPT.

Cost verdict

Claude Pro is better value than ChatGPT Plus for writing and long-document tasks because Claude's outputs are longer — meaning the API cost per useful task is proportionally higher. Typical usage: API equivalent is $3–8/month. At moderate-to-heavy use Pro pays for itself. The Projects feature (persistent memory per project) is the main non-cost reason to stay on Pro.
